Marine Piston & Piston Ring Supplier
Piston rings, piston crowns, skirts, rods and complete piston assemblies for two-stroke and four-stroke marine engines — genuine and OEM, with class documentation.
Piston rings do the work that keeps combustion pressure where it belongs, and they are the part most often blamed when something else has gone wrong. Free ring movement in the groove, correct gap, the right profile and coating for the fuel being burned — these matter more than the brand on the box. A ring set that is dimensionally right but has the wrong running face treatment will bed badly and take a liner with it.
We supply individual ring sets and complete piston assemblies: crowns, skirts, piston rods, cooling arrangements, stuffing box components and the associated bolting. For overhauls we prefer to quote the full set for the unit rather than piecemeal items, because mixing new rings into an out-of-tolerance groove is how a scheduled overhaul turns into an unscheduled one.
What We Supply
- Compression and oil control piston ring sets to engine specification
- Piston crowns, skirts and complete piston assemblies
- Piston rods, cross-head bearings and stuffing box sets (two-stroke)
- Piston cooling oil telescopic pipes and spray nozzles
- Ring grooves inserts, chrome-ceramic and gas-nitrided ring options
- Piston bolts, nuts and locking devices
- Piston rod scraper rings and stuffing box sealing rings
- Class conformity and material certificates with every supply
Signs Your Pistons or Rings Need Attention
- Rising cylinder lube oil consumption without a load change
- Blow-by at the scavenge ports, or scavenge box fires on a two-stroke
- Low compression or low maximum pressure on the indicator diagram for one unit
- Broken, collapsed or stuck rings found at scavenge port inspection
- Ring groove wear beyond the maker's limit — the usual reason a crown is condemned
- Burn marks, cracking or heavy deposits on the piston crown top land
- Excessive piston rod stuffing box drain, pointing to worn scraper rings
Engine & Equipment Makes We Cover
Pistons & Piston Rings supplied for the makes below, as genuine OEM and as class-approved equivalents — both quoted so you can decide against your survey date rather than guess.
What to Send Us for a Quote
We need the engine make and type designation, the unit number, and the ring or piston part numbers from the spare parts catalogue. Tell us the fuel in use as well — heavy fuel, low-sulphur or gas — because it changes which ring coating we should be quoting.

Pistons & Piston Rings — Common Questions
What superintendents and purchasing teams ask us most about marine pistons and piston rings.
Do you supply complete piston assemblies or only rings?
Both. We supply individual piston ring sets, and complete assemblies including crowns, skirts, piston rods, cooling arrangements and the associated bolting. For an overhaul we normally quote the full set for the unit, since fitting new rings into an out-of-tolerance groove rarely ends well.
Which piston ring coatings do you supply?
Standard, chrome-plated, chrome-ceramic and gas-nitrided running faces depending on the engine and the fuel in use. Tell us whether the engine burns heavy fuel, low-sulphur or gas and we will quote the coating that suits, not just the cheapest equivalent.
Can you supply piston rings for older engine models?
Yes. Legacy Sulzer, older MAN B&W MC and older Wärtsilä and MAK ranges are a regular part of what we supply, including sizes the OEM has moved off standard stock. Send the nameplate details and we will confirm.
How do I know whether a piston crown can be reused?
It comes down to ring groove wear, top land burn-back and crack indication at the crown. Ring groove wear beyond the maker's limit is the most common reason a crown is condemned. Work to the measurements in your engine manual and, where in doubt, have the crown crack-tested.
Do you supply piston rod stuffing box parts?
Yes. Scraper rings, sealing rings, complete stuffing box sets and the associated springs and bolting for two-stroke engines, supplied to the engine build specification.
What certification comes with piston rings and pistons?
Certificates of conformity and material certificates accepted by ABS, DNV, LR, BV, RINA, NK, KR and CCS, prepared before dispatch.
