Marine Exhaust Valve & Seat Supplier
Exhaust and inlet valve spindles, seats, cages, guides, rotators and springs for marine engines — including Nimonic and hard-faced spindles and reconditioned exchange units.
Exhaust valves live in the worst environment on the engine: full combustion temperature, corrosive combustion products and a seat that has to stay gas-tight through every cycle. Burn-out at the seating face, blow-by channelling and spindle stem corrosion are the normal failure routes, and low-sulphur fuel changed the picture again by altering the deposit chemistry that used to protect the seat.
We supply new and OEM spindles and seats, hard-faced and Nimonic-headed spindles where the engine specifies them, and reconditioned exchange units that have been re-ground, hard-faced and certified. On MAN B&W two-strokes we also cover the complete valve cage, the air spring and the hydraulic actuator components that go with it.
What We Supply
- Exhaust valve spindles — standard, hard-faced and Nimonic-headed
- Inlet valve spindles and valve seat rings
- Complete exhaust valve cages and housings (two-stroke)
- Valve guides, rotators, springs, collets and cotters
- Air spring and damper components for two-stroke valve actuation
- Hydraulic valve actuator pistons, cylinders and seals
- Valve seat inserts and re-facing spares
- Reconditioned exchange spindles with grinding and hard-facing reports
Exhaust Valve Failure Symptoms
- High exhaust temperature on one unit with low maximum pressure — the classic blow-by signature
- Burn marks or radial channelling across the seating face at open-up
- Seat recession beyond the maker's grinding limit
- Spindle stem corrosion, pitting or bending
- Valve rotator not turning the spindle, causing uneven seat wear
- Cracked or distorted valve head, especially around the Nimonic-to-stem weld
- Air spring leakage or slow closing on hydraulically actuated two-stroke valves
Engine & Equipment Makes We Cover
Exhaust Valves & Seats supplied for the makes below, as genuine OEM and as class-approved equivalents — both quoted so you can decide against your survey date rather than guess.
What to Send Us for a Quote
Send the engine make and type, the valve part number, and whether the engine burns heavy fuel, low-sulphur or gas. The fuel matters: it changes the deposit chemistry at the seat and therefore whether a hard-faced or Nimonic spindle is the right specification.

Exhaust Valves & Seats — Common Questions
What superintendents and purchasing teams ask us most about marine exhaust valves and seats.
Do you supply Nimonic exhaust valve spindles?
Yes, where the engine specifies them. Nimonic-headed spindles resist high-temperature corrosion far better than conventional steel and are standard on many large two-strokes. We also supply hard-faced alternatives where the engine allows.
Can you supply reconditioned exhaust valve spindles?
Yes. Exchange spindles are re-ground, hard-faced where applicable, and supplied with grinding and hard-facing reports. It is a well-established route on running tonnage where the OEM lead time does not suit.
Do you supply complete exhaust valve cages?
Yes. For MAN B&W and similar two-strokes we supply the complete cage assembly along with the air spring components, hydraulic actuator parts and the seals that go with them.
Why do exhaust valves burn out on low-sulphur fuel?
Low-sulphur operation changes the combustion deposit chemistry at the seat. The deposits that used to form a protective layer behave differently, and any small blow-by channel that starts is less likely to be sealed by them — so a channel that would once have self-healed instead grows into a burn-out.
Which engines do you cover for valves and seats?
MAN B&W, Wärtsilä, Sulzer, MAK, Yanmar, Daihatsu, Hanshin, Akasaka, HiMSEN, Caterpillar, Deutz and Cummins, across main engines and auxiliaries.
What certification do valve spindles come with?
Material certificates and certificates of conformity for new and OEM spindles, plus grinding and hard-facing reports on reconditioned units — accepted by ABS, DNV, LR, BV, RINA, NK, KR and CCS.
