Marine Cylinder Liner Supplier
Genuine and OEM cylinder liners for two-stroke and four-stroke marine engines, supplied with material certificates and class documentation to vessels and repair yards worldwide.
The cylinder liner is the single most expensive routine wear item in most engine rooms, and the one where a wrong supply hurts most. Bore diameter, material specification, port geometry on two-strokes, cooling bore layout and the honing pattern all have to match the engine build — a liner that is nominally 'the right model' but from a different design revision will not give the ring seal or the wear rate you need.
SCARDET supplies liners as genuine OEM items and as class-approved equivalents from established foundries, both with full material traceability. We quote both, side by side, because the honest answer often depends on how long the vessel has left in service and how close the next survey is — not just on price.
What We Supply
- Two-stroke cylinder liners with scavenge port and lubricator quill arrangement to the engine build
- Four-stroke wet and dry cylinder liners
- Matched liner, piston and piston ring sets supplied as one package
- Liner O-rings, sealing rings and cooling water seals
- Cylinder lubricator quills, non-return valves and accumulators
- Anti-polishing rings and scraper rings
- Liner cooling bores and insulation collars where fitted
- Material certificates (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2) and class conformity documents
When a Cylinder Liner Needs Replacing
- Measured bore wear approaching the maker's condemning limit, or ovality outside tolerance at the top ring reversal point
- Bore polishing — a mirrored band that stops the rings bedding and drives lube oil consumption up
- Vertical scuffing or scoring from ring collapse, cat fines or a lubrication failure
- Rising cylinder lube oil feed rate with no corresponding load increase
- Blow-by evident at the scavenge ports, or scavenge fires on a two-stroke
- Cracking at the liner collar or around the cooling bores found at overhaul
- Water side pitting or cavitation erosion on wet liners
Engine & Equipment Makes We Cover
Cylinder Liners supplied for the makes below, as genuine OEM and as class-approved equivalents — both quoted so you can decide against your survey date rather than guess.
What to Send Us for a Quote
Send the engine make and full type designation from the nameplate, the cylinder number, and the liner part number from the spare parts catalogue if you have it. A photo of the nameplate and of the existing liner's stamped markings usually settles any ambiguity about the design revision.

Cylinder Liners — Common Questions
What superintendents and purchasing teams ask us most about marine cylinder liners.
Do you supply genuine OEM cylinder liners or replacements?
Both. We supply genuine OEM liners through authorised channels and class-approved equivalents from established foundries, each with EN 10204 material certificates and full traceability. Every enquiry is quoted with both options and both lead times so you can decide against the survey date.
Which engine makes do you supply cylinder liners for?
MAN B&W, Wärtsilä, Sulzer, MAK, Yanmar, Daihatsu, Hanshin, Akasaka, HiMSEN, Caterpillar, Cummins and Deutz among others, covering both two-stroke main engines and four-stroke auxiliaries.
Can you supply liners with matched pistons and piston rings?
Yes, and it is usually the better way to buy them. A matched liner, piston and ring set from one source removes the clearance and ring-groove mismatch that shows up when the three are bought separately from different suppliers.
What information do you need to quote a cylinder liner?
The engine make and full type designation from the nameplate, the cylinder number and the liner part number from the spare parts catalogue. Photographs of the nameplate and the stamped markings on the existing liner resolve most design-revision questions.
What is the typical wear limit for a marine cylinder liner?
It is set by the engine maker, not by a general rule — most large two-strokes condemn on bore wear in the region of 0.6 to 0.8 percent of nominal bore, with separate limits for ovality. Always work to the figure in your engine manual, measured at the maker's specified points.
Do cylinder liners come with class certificates?
Yes. We supply certificates of conformity and material certificates accepted by ABS, DNV, LR, BV, RINA, NK, KR and CCS, prepared before dispatch so they arrive with the liner rather than after the survey.
